Metamorphosis

“It’s a Kafka high; you feel like a bug”- Naked Lunch- William. S. Burroughs

Creatively, this year, I find myself quite enthused by metamorphosis…

If you have ever delved into the absurd world of Kafka, more precisely his book Metamorphosis, you might understand my fascination.

As a firm believer in Existentialism, the belief that philosophical thinking begins with the human subject- not merely the thinking subject.

It starts with us as individuals with our feelings, experiences, disorientation and confusion in the face of an apparently meaningless or absurd world.

I came across a beautifully illustrated children’s version of the book and got really inspired to create my own morphed creatures. I was highly influenced by a photography and body painting montage of women and bugs and this is my version of them.
